Grow. Gather. Give.
Permaculture approach to education.
Grow. Gather. Give. is an approach to education rooted in the garden, nature, cooking, and service. It is being shaped into materials for students, teachers, and parents.
The prepared environment
Gardeners do not grow plants. They prepare the environment and provide the conditions for growth.
Children arrive to real work. Seeds, soil, bowls, weather, books, and the changing needs of a garden give the day its shape. The adult prepares the conditions, then makes room for what belongs to the child.
In the garden now.
Grow. Gather. Give. was developed in a working micro-school before it was written down. The approach is still taking shape, with future materials for early childhood settings.
